Sea travel in northern Quezon resumed Monday morning after Pagasa lifted Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 over the Polillo Group of Islands.
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) station in Real restored normal vessel operations following Pagasa’s 8 a.m. tropical cyclone bulletin.
Trips to and from the Polillo Group of Islands had been suspended shortly before midnight Saturday because of rough seas brought by Tropical Depression Luis.
The suspension stranded 113 passengers and 14 vessels and motorboats at several ports in northern Quezon, according to the Coast Guard.
One motor vessel, MBCA Syvel 102, also sought shelter and safely anchored off Panukulan during the weather disturbance.
The Real Coast Guard station oversees maritime operations in Polillo, Burdeos, Panukulan, Jomalig and Patnanungan.
As of Monday morning, Luis was located 135 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 70 kph.
Signal No. 1 remained raised over parts of Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao and northern Aurora.
