World Cup stars Jaclyn Sawicki, Katrina Guillou, and Isabella Flanigan will headline Team Philippines in the inaugural FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup, hosted in the country this month. The trio previously made history with the Philippine Women’s National Football Team at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Coached by Rafael Merino, the Filipina5 will compete in Group A against higher-ranked teams: world no. 14 Poland, no. 31 Morocco, and no. 6 Argentina. Other squad members include Shai del Campo, Dionesa Tolentin, Charisa Lemoran, PFF Women’s League players Lanie Ortillo, Isabella Bandoja, Rocelle Mendaño, goalkeepers Samantha Hughes and Kayla Santiago, overseas players Cathrine Graversen and Judy Connolly, and FEU’s Regine Rebosora.
A total of 16 teams will compete in the first-ever FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup, running from November 21 to December 7 at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City. The Philippines will open its campaign against Poland on November 21.
