The Samar Provincial Hospital launched a new dialysis facility on Monday, expanding access to treatment for patients with kidney disease.
Hospital officials said the center offers a full range of services, including dialysis sessions, medical consultations, laboratory tests, and necessary medicines.
Among the treatments provided are erythropoietin injections, iron therapy, intravenous antibiotics, and dialysis supplies needed for regular care.
The facility was designed to operate throughout the year, with patients scheduled for treatment several times weekly to ensure continuity of care.
At present, the center can accommodate up to 30 patients daily across two shifts, supported by 15 dialysis machines, with plans to increase capacity as demand rises.
Governor Sharee Ann Tan said the project is expected to improve access to life saving treatment and support families managing long term illness.
Services are provided at no cost through assistance from the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation and government medical aid programs.
Patients may seek treatment through walk in visits or scheduled consultations, with hospital staff advising them to bring relevant medical records and undergo required diagnostic tests before treatment begins.
