Russian vlogger Vitaly Zdorovetskiy faces a possible 18-month jail term in the Philippines after being charged with unjust vexation for a series of disruptive pranks in Metro Manila. The 33-year-old content creator, known for his provocative online stunts, was arrested in April 2025 following incidents in Bonifacio Global City (BGC).
Zdorovetskiy, who boasts over 10 million YouTube subscribers, was taken into custody after livestreaming a string of confrontational acts — including attempting to seize a security guard’s firearm, stealing a patrol motorcycle, and threatening a woman in public. He is now facing three counts of unjust vexation, each carrying a penalty of three months to one year in prison.
Interior secretary Jonvic Remulla confirmed that due to refusals from both Russia and the United States to accept him, Zdorovetskiy will serve his sentence in a Philippine detention facility if convicted. “We will serve his sentence — I made sure of that,” Remulla said, emphasizing that no special treatment will be given despite the vlogger’s foreign status.
Remulla also revealed that Zdorovetskiy has sought the dismissal of charges on the basis of mental health concerns. However, the government remains firm on moving forward with the legal process.
The case underscores the Philippine government’s resolve to enforce its laws uniformly — and signals a warning to foreign nationals that viral content does not exempt anyone from local accountability.
