‘Rose of Versailles’ film now streaming on Netflix

The anime classic Rose of Versailles has officially arrived on Netflix as a full-length animated film, now available under the platform’s “New this Week” tab. The movie runs for 1 hour and 54 minutes.

“Raised as a boy, trained as a soldier, honorable Oscar Francois de Jarjayes finds her loyalties tested as bodyguard to the future queen Marie Antoinette,” reads the official Netflix description.

Produced by acclaimed studio MAPPA—known for Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan Season 4—the film features Miyuki Sawashiro as Oscar and Aya Hirano as Marie Antoinette. Toshiyuki Toyonaga and Kazuki Kato also join the cast as André Grandier and Hans Axel von Fersen.

Fans of old-school anime and historical drama can now stream this beautifully reimagined tale.
