Motorists should expect temporary traffic disruptions in the Makati Central Business District as the city prepares for its New Year’s Eve countdown along Ayala Avenue.
Make It Makati said several road sections will be closed in stages to allow for event setup, safety preparations, and cleanup activities.
From Dec. 27 to Dec. 30, portions of Ayala Avenue between Paseo de Roxas and Fonda Street will be inaccessible to vehicles.
The same advisory said a stretch of Makati Avenue from Dela Rosa Street to near Santo Tomas Street will also be closed during this period.
Stricter traffic restrictions will be implemented from Dec. 31, 2025 to Jan. 2, 2026, covering more areas near the venue.
These include Ayala Avenue from V.A. Rufino Street to Fonda Street.
Makati Avenue from Dela Rosa Street to Santo Tomas Street will remain closed during the New Year period.
Paseo de Roxas between Ayala Avenue and Villar Street will likewise be affected by the temporary closures.
Make It Makati said the measures are necessary “to accommodate event preparations and post-event clean-up.”
The traffic changes coincide with the “Makati in Full Color: Ayala Avenue New Year’s Eve Countdown to 2026,” which starts at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
