Police units in Bicol received 20 motorcycles to improve their ability to respond to emergency calls coursed through the government’s unified 911 system.
Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla led the turnover Monday at the Police Regional Office in Bicol, where the new vehicles were formally handed to law enforcement personnel.
The motorcycles will be assigned to police units in Albay and Camarines Sur, allowing responders to reach emergencies faster, particularly in locations where larger vehicles may face access or traffic constraints.
Officials said the additional mobility assets formed part of the government’s efforts to strengthen the unified 911 system and improve emergency response capabilities across the region.
The program seeks to provide the public with a coordinated emergency hotline while enabling authorities to dispatch the appropriate responders more efficiently.
During the event, Remulla also called for cooperation in pursuing development despite political differences and emphasized the government’s continuing focus on peace and order.
He said stronger coordination among uniformed personnel and efforts to address public safety concerns were essential to creating safer communities.
Remulla was joined at the turnover by PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., Bicol police director Brig. Gen. Erosito Miranda, Camarines Sur Gov. LRay Villafuerte and Albay Gov. Noel Rosal.
