The remains of the two victims who died in the NAIA Terminal 1 Departure Area accident on the morning of Sunday, May 4, 2025 — a 28-year-old man and a 5-year-old girl — have been transported to their respective homes in Bulacan and Batangas.
The bodies were initially brought to Veronica Funeral Home in Pasay City for preparation before being sent to their families. The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) assisted in handling the remains of the young girl, as both her parents are overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
According to the family, the child was only accompanying her father to the airport for his flight to the Czech Republic when the tragic accident occurred. Her mother, who was injured in the crash, underwent surgery for abdominal injuries and is now recovering along with her mother-in-law, who was also hurt.
The 28-year-old male victim is now being laid to rest in Hagonoy, Bulacan. The families of both victims have declined to face the media for now.
The NAIA Police said that the results of the medical examination of the 47-year-old SUV driver involved in the accident will be released on Monday, May 5. The tests include alcohol and drug screening.
The driver will also undergo inquest proceedings at the Pasay Prosecutor’s Office. He may face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in two counts of homicide, multiple physical injuries, and damage to property.
The suspect remains in the custody of NAIA Police.
