Actress and beauty queen Reign Parani is determined to keep chasing her pageant dreams while juggling her studies and acting career. After being named Binibining Pilipinas second runner-up in 2023, the 21-year-old is set to join another national pageant this year, though she remains tight-lipped about the details.
“I feel like naniniwala ako na if you started, finish off strong. I started so well this year. My January was jampacked and I’m planning to make it the same way hanggang December po. I’m definitely going to join another national pageant this year. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to disclose yet (laughs),” Reign told PUSH ABS-CBN.
Joining pageants at a young age taught Reign valuable life lessons, especially as a working student. “I was definitely very young. I’m still young. I’m 21 and I joined national pageants at 19 so I really learned at an early age to find hope and to not give up no matter what’s coming your way. Just keep going lang and have faith in yourself. Believe in yourself talaga,” she said.
Currently, Reign stars in Love at First Spike, an upcoming iWantTFC original series. Landing a lead role was something she once doubted. “I never knew that I was leading role worthy because I felt like I wasn’t getting the opportunities but wala ka talagang masasabi kapag merong taong naniniwala, naghihintay at nag-wo-work hard talaga sa craft mo,” she said.
When asked about her beauty queen inspiration, Reign was quick to name Miss Universe 2015. “Oh it would definitely be Ms. Pia Wurtzbach. I’m just so inspired by her story. How she was also starting here and she took her ways to find doors and opportunities for herself and I totally resonate with that,” she shared. “If wala man, meron at meron, gagawa ka pa rin ng paraan. That’s why I joined Binibining Pilipinas in 2023 and now that I’m back, I’m just so happy na I’m welcomed back properly.”
Reign also shared that she’s currently single and happily focusing on herself. “I think I haven’t even been on a most romantic date. I am definitely single and I will be maybe for a longer time. I don’t think I have been but I always take myself out on dates so I really believe in those. I don’t have (a crush),” she said, then added: “Papa P talaga. Iba talaga siya. I don’t know. He was actually the first artista na I’ve ever taken a picture with when I was a kid. So I hope maulit ko ulit yun. I haven’t ever yet seen him again.”
