From disruptor to industry heavyweight, Xiaomi continues to redefine what scale and innovation look like in consumer tech. Now the world’s third-largest smartphone maker with a 14% global market share as of Q3 2025, Xiaomi has evolved far beyond phones—spanning electric vehicles, smart home appliances, and an integrated “Human × Car × Home” ecosystem that anchors its long-term strategy.
That momentum is reflected in its user base. By September 2025, Xiaomi’s global monthly active users surpassed 740 million. At the heart of that growth is REDMI—Xiaomi’s volume powerhouse—which hit a historic milestone of one billion cumulative smartphone shipments in 2023.
Driving a massive share of that success is the REDMI Note Series, which has now crossed 460 million global shipments across more than 100 countries as of December 18, 2025. Riding that wave, Xiaomi is rolling out the next chapter this month with the global launch of the REDMI Note 15 Series.
“Over the past decade, the REDMI Note Series has earned the trust of users worldwide, and that trust is built on sustained investment in research and development,” said Cynthia Chen, REDMI Marketing Director at Xiaomi Global Marketing Department.
“Since its first launch in Singapore 12 years ago, we’ve consistently raised the bar on performance, quality, and accessibility. This month, we’re excited to introduce the REDMI Note 15 Series to users around the world,” Chen added.
From a fast sell-out to a global footprint
The REDMI Note story began with a bang. Its first global debut in Singapore in 2014 saw 5,000 units snapped up in under a minute. Months later in India, the hype escalated further—initial stocks sold out in just eight seconds. The original REDMI Note combined a large 5.5-inch display, a then-impressive 3,000mAh-plus battery, and strong performance at an accessible price, setting the blueprint for what the series would become.
Expansion accelerated between 2017 and 2018 as REDMI Note spearheaded Xiaomi’s entry into new regions. Mexico became the gateway to Latin America in May 2017, followed by Spain later that year, marking the brand’s first step into Europe. Today, REDMI Note devices are sold in over 100 countries, supported by a wide omnichannel network of Xiaomi Stores, major e-commerce platforms, and carrier partners.
Closing the gap between mid-range and flagship
What truly set the REDMI Note Series apart is its mission to blur the line between mid-range and premium smartphones. Time and again, features once reserved for flagships were pushed into more affordable segments—turning Xiaomi’s “Innovation for Everyone” mantra into a tangible reality.
Camera technology tells that story clearly. The REDMI Note 12 Pro+ 5G was a turning point, introducing a 200MP camera with optical image stabilization—the first OIS-equipped camera in the series—paired with a flagship-grade 1/1.4-inch sensor and 120W HyperCharge. It was a statement move that redefined expectations for the category.
Built tough for everyday life
Performance gains were matched by steady improvements in durability. The REDMI Note 7 Series introduced Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both the front and back at a time when such protection was rare in the mid-range. The Note 10 Pro followed with IP53 splash resistance and reinforced structural design.
A major leap came with the REDMI Note 13 Pro+ 5G, the first global REDMI Note device to offer IP68 water and dust resistance alongside Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The Note 14 Pro+ 5G and Note 14 Pro 5G pushed further with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and continued IP68 certification.
The next leap: REDMI Note 15 Series
Launching globally this month, the REDMI Note 15 Series represents the most ambitious evolution of the lineup yet. Built around the new REDMI Titan Durability concept, the series focuses on long-lasting battery health, reinforced drop protection, and enhanced dust- and water-resistance across models—designed for real-world reliability, not just spec sheets.
The lineup also pushes deeper into flagship territory with Silicon-Carbon Battery technology, Xiaomi’s IceLoop cooling system, and a wider range of AI-powered features aimed at smarter performance management and everyday usability.
At the top sits the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G, the most advanced REDMI Note device to date. It features a new 200MP ultimate-clarity camera powered by a globally debuting HPE sensor, comprehensive IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K dust and water resistance, and SGS 5-Stars Premium Performance Certification—clear signals of how far the series has come.

Powered by heavy R&D and smart Mmnufacturing
Behind the REDMI Note Series’ steady rise is Xiaomi’s aggressive long-term investment in research, engineering, and manufacturing. The company invested RMB 23.5 billion (around USD 3.3 billion) in R&D in the first three quarters of 2025 alone, with plans to ramp this up to RMB 40 billion (about USD 5.7 billion) in 2026.
That investment supports a global R&D network spanning more than 730 laboratories across 11 cities. It is complemented by Xiaomi’s advanced in-house manufacturing ecosystem, including the Xiaomi EV Factory in Beijing, the Xiaomi Smart Home Appliance Factory in Wuhan, and the Xiaomi Smart Factory in Beijing—its flagship smartphone manufacturing hub, where finished devices roll off the line every six seconds.
Raising the bar for accessible innovation
With more than 460 million units shipped worldwide, the REDMI Note Series stands as one of the most successful smartphone lineups in history. Backed by sustained R&D spending and vertically integrated manufacturing, Xiaomi continues to scale innovation without abandoning affordability.
The global launch of the REDMI Note 15 Series signals the next phase of that journey—once again resetting expectations for what a mid-range smartphone can deliver.
The wait is over. The REDMI Note 15 Series has arrived in the Philippines—flagship-level power, bold design, and Titan-tough durability. Available now via Lazada, Shopee, and official retail stores nationwide.
