Miss Grand International 2024 Rachel Gupta has officially stepped down from her title, citing broken promises, mistreatment, and a toxic environment as reasons behind her decision.
In a statement posted on Instagram on Wednesday, Gupta expressed her deep disappointment with how events unfolded after her crowning.
“However, the months following my crowning have been marked by broken promises, mistreatment, and a toxic environment I can no longer endure in silence,” she wrote.
Gupta said resigning from her title was not an easy decision and promised to share more details soon.
“The choice to step down was not made lightly,” she said. “Your love means more than you know.”
A full video explaining the circumstances surrounding her resignation will be released in the coming days. As of now, the Miss Grand International organization has yet to comment.
