Quiapo Church has released the program for this year’s Feast of the Black Nazarene, which will run from January 7 to 9.

Preparations begin with Barangay Visitations in the Quiapo district from January 2 to 6, along with first Friday masses on January 2.

On January 3, the church will bless replicas of the Jesus Nazareno and Estandarte at 1:30 p.m., while the Pabihis ceremony for the original image is set for January 7 at the same hour.

January 8 will feature morning masses from 5 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and Fiesta masses in the afternoon and evening, while January 9 will have continuous masses from midnight until 11 p.m.

Activities at the Quirino Grandstand include a troop send-off on January 7 at 3 p.m., a volunteer mass at 6 p.m., and the traditional Pahalik at 7 p.m.

The Grandstand will also host the band parade on January 8 at 3 p.m., the Panalangin sa Takipsilim at 5 p.m., and a vigil program continuing into the early hours of January 9.

The celebration culminates in the Traslacion, a 5.8-kilometer procession of the Black Nazarene from Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church, commemorating the 1787 transfer of the image from Bagumbayan to its current shrine.
