Pueblo de Oro empowers women, one livelihood at a time

Training in basic cosmetology, covering essential skills such as manicures, pedicures, and foot spa treatments.

Pueblo de Oro Development Corporation (PDO), a proud member of the ICCP Group, is proving that property development can go hand-in-hand with people empowerment—especially when it comes to uplifting the lives of women.

Through the ICCP Group Foundation, Inc. (IGFI), its corporate social responsibility arm, PDO is rolling out impactful programs that give underprivileged women the tools, skills, and confidence to change their lives—and their communities—for the better. Working closely with local government units and civic organizations, these initiatives are designed to create real, lasting change.

At the heart of these efforts is the flagship program Ganda Mo, Hanapbuhay Ko. Since 2018, this life-changing initiative—launched in partnership with sister company Science Park of the Philippines, Inc. (SPPI) and the Ang Hortaleza Foundation Inc. (AHFI)—has been helping women turn beauty into business. Participants receive hands-on training in basic cosmetology, including manicures, pedicures, foot spa treatments, hairstyling, and makeup. What began in Batangas has since grown to reach women in Laguna and Cebu, with hundreds gaining new skills and income opportunities.

Another standout project, Kabalikat sa Negosyo, focuses on entrepreneurial empowerment. Launched in 2021, this program equips unemployed mothers in San Fernando, Pampanga with the know-how to run small businesses—giving them a renewed sense of purpose and financial independence.

Meanwhile, Gabay sa Kabuhayan, in collaboration with Odyssey Foundation, Inc. (OFI), opens doors for marginalized families through food safety seminars and hands-on training in managing food cart businesses. Women in Malvar, Batangas have also received essential cooking tools and food products to kickstart their own ventures.

But the support doesn’t stop there
Across project areas like Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Pampanga, and Batangas, PDO has launched Kaagapay Sa Hanap-Buhay: Livelihood for Women, a wide-ranging initiative that trains women in scrap collection, sewing, food vending, bread and pastry making, and even the production of practical household goods like dishwashing liquid, car shampoo, and fabric conditioner.

To ensure these women succeed, PDO goes the extra mile by providing pangkabuhayan packages to help them start their own businesses. They also receive continuous mentorship and monitoring—because real empowerment doesn’t end with training, it thrives with ongoing support.

While Pueblo de Oro is known for its environmentally sound and sustainable real estate developments, its greatest legacy might just be the lives it transforms. Through its inclusive, women-focused programs, PDO is building more than communities—it’s building brighter futures, one empowered woman at a time.
