The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) launched a fully digital platform for issuing civil registry documents on Wednesday as part of its ongoing modernization drive.
The PSA E-Certificate Service was unveiled at the agency’s East Avenue office in Quezon City and aligns with the government’s Digital Philippines vision.
National Statistician Dennis Mapa said the system was designed to make transactions faster and more convenient while strengthening document security.
He explained that the platform uses advanced cryptographic safeguards to prevent tampering and forgery of issued certificates.
To further enhance security, the PSA integrated QR code verification into each electronic document, allowing institutions to confirm authenticity through real-time validation.
Mapa said electronic certificates issued through the system carry the same legal standing as those released through traditional processes.
He added that the shift to digital issuance reduces the need for physical transport, helping lower resource consumption and environmental waste.
The PSA said the service can benefit schools and private companies, particularly human resources units, by speeding up enrollment and identity verification.
