PSA expects Philippine population to hit 124 million by 2035

The Philippines’ population is expected to reach 123.96 million by 2035, adding nearly 14.8 million people to the 2020 count of 109.2 million, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

The projection assumes an average annual growth rate of 0.85 percent. By 2035, males are expected to number 62.64 million, or 50.5 percent, while females will account for 61.32 million, or 49.5 percent.

The CALABARZON region is projected to remain the most populous at 19.07 million, followed by the National Capital Region at 14.49 million and Central Luzon at 14.02 million. The Cordillera Administrative Region is expected to have the smallest population at 2.13 million.

Among provinces, Cavite is projected to stay the largest at 5.30 million, followed by Bulacan at 4.17 million and Rizal at 3.88 million. For highly urbanized cities, Quezon City is expected to remain the largest at 2.92 million, followed by Davao City at 2.04 million and Manila at 1.90 million by 2030.
