The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) formally recognized its top-performing cadets after the conclusion of the first term of Academic Year 2025–2026, highlighting academic discipline and tactical excellence during the Course Excellence Award ceremony held at Yap Hall on January 9.
The academy conferred honors on a wide range of cadets whose performances stood out across academic and tactical courses. A total of 31 cadets earned spots on the Dean’s List, while 43 were named to the Commandant’s List. One cadet achieved the distinction of being included in both lists. In addition, 30 cadets were recognized as course achievers in various academic subjects, while 18 others were cited for excellence in tactical disciplines.
PMA Superintendent Vice Admiral Caesar Valencia congratulated the awardees, describing the ceremony as a meaningful acknowledgment of the cadets’ dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence. He said the achievements reflected outstanding performance across courses handled by both the academic and tactics groups, covering cadets from the first to third classes for the first term and fourth class cadets from the second term.
Valencia noted that the accomplishments of the awardees reaffirm the strong culture of excellence upheld within the academy, emphasizing that such achievements are built through consistent effort and discipline. He encouraged the cadets to continue developing the knowledge and skills they demonstrated in previous terms, especially as they face increasingly complex challenges as future officers.
He also stressed the importance of mental resilience in an era marked by uncertainty and rapid technological change, reminding cadets that leadership requires sound judgment, adaptability, and clarity of thought.
As future leaders of the Armed Forces, Valencia said cadets must remain mentally sharp and resilient, as their decisions will have direct consequences on their troops and the communities they serve. He urged the entire Corps of Cadets to continue strengthening the academy’s culture of excellence, guided by the core values of courage, integrity, and loyalty.
