The Police Regional Office-3 will deploy around 2,000 personnel across Central Luzon to ensure safety during the summer vacation season, officials said Thursday.
PRO-3 chief Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez said the police force is on heightened alert from March 29 to May 31 as thousands of travelers are expected across the region.
He added that police visibility will be strengthened through proactive deployment, with the primary goal of protecting lives, securing communities, and ensuring safe travel.
The operational plan includes intensified foot and mobile patrols, as well as police assistance desks and centers in bus terminals, airports, seaports, highways, and tourist destinations.
Road safety marshals will be deployed to help motorists and manage traffic along major thoroughfares, Mendez said.
Police commanders were instructed to coordinate closely with local governments, NGOs, other government agencies, and volunteer groups to promote a community-wide approach to public safety.
Force multipliers and auxiliary partners, including Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams and radio communication groups, will support police operations in crowded areas.
Mendez called on the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to help maintain safety throughout the summer season.
