Police Lt. Gen. Bernard Banac has officially assumed the role of Deputy Chief for Administration, the second highest position in the Philippine National Police (PNP), as of Wednesday.
Banac’s appointment follows a post swap with Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., who will now lead the Area Police Command (APC)-Western Mindanao.
Previously, Banac served as the head of the PNP-Public Information Office and was the PNP spokesperson from 2019 to 2020. His extensive experience includes leadership roles at the Police Regional Office 8 (Eastern Visayas), the Directorate for Plans, the Directorate for Information and Communications Technology Management (DICTM), and the Special Action Force.
Banac is a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy, class of 1992.
