The Philippine Air Force (PAF) successfully transported over two thousand boxes and sacks of relief goods to three remote towns in Abra affected by recent cyclones. Utilizing a W-3A Sokol and an S-70i Black Hawk helicopter, the PAF delivered supplies to the towns of Tineg, Lacub, and Malibcong on Monday and Tuesday.
In coordination with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the PAF transported a total of 1,046 boxes and 104 sacks of relief goods. This included 125 boxes delivered to Barangay Cagayanan in Tineg via the Sokol helicopter, while the Black Hawk helicopter airlifted 921 boxes and 104 sacks to various barangays across the three municipalities.
These towns were among those severely impacted by the southwest monsoon and tropical cyclones Crising, Dante, and Emong in July. Philippine Army troops assisted in unloading and hauling the supplies.
PAF emphasized that these efforts demonstrate their commitment to national disaster response operations, ensuring that life-saving assistance reaches those in need, especially in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.
