Police said Tuesday one of the two minors behind the Tacloban City school shooting had previously played GoreBox, a game authorities described as violent.
Eastern Visayas police director Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy said investigators found that the 14-year-old suspect had played the shooting game before the incident.
Capoy said the game involved firearms and violent scenes, based on the initial findings of the police investigation.
The two suspects, aged 14 and 15, were both Grade 9 students.
Police said they opened fire inside the San Jose National High School campus on Monday morning.
At least three students were killed in the shooting, while there were reported 20 individuals who got wounded from the incident.
Capoy said the 14-year-old suspect was not considered highly trained with firearms but had been brought to a shooting range before and knew how to handle a gun, including removing a magazine and reloading.
