The Philippine National Police (PNP) rescued three children in Cavite during an operation against alleged online sexual exploitation, authorities said.
The children, aged four to six, were rescued by operatives of the PNP Women and Children Protection Center during operations in Bacoor and Silang on June 22.
Police also arrested a 27-year-old security guard identified only by the alias Arnel.
Authorities said the suspect was a former neighbor of the victims.
The operation involved the implementation of a court-issued warrant to search, seize, and examine computer data, along with a simultaneous victim location and rescue effort.
Police said charges had been filed for alleged violations of Republic Act 11930, or the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children law, in relation to Republic Act 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Act.
PNP chief Gen. Jose Nartatez said the operation showed the police force’s intensified campaign to protect children from online abuse and other forms of exploitation.
The PNP said the rescued children were placed under proper care and protection, while follow-up investigations were ongoing to determine possible links and prevent further exploitation.
