Police recovered firearms, ammunition, explosives, and other war materiel during a security operation in Baggao, Cagayan on June 14.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) said the items were found in a remote area of Barangay Carupian.
Authorities launched the operation after receiving validated information on a former encampment site allegedly linked to an armed group.
Police units, working with military forces and other agencies, proceeded to the area and found a concealed cache of weapons and explosive materials.
The recovered items included assorted firearms, ammunition of various calibers, explosive components, and related materials.
Authorities secured the site and handled the recovered items under safety procedures and proper protocols.
The PNP said the explosive materials were turned over to specialized units for safekeeping and proper disposition, while the other items were documented for follow-up action.
PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez said the operation showed the importance of sustained vigilance and coordination among security forces to prevent weapons and explosives from reaching communities.
