The Philippine National Police said it is prepared to implement any lawful court order involving Sen. Rodante Marcoleta after a plunder case was filed against him before the Sandiganbayan.

PNP public information chief Col. Allen Co said Friday that police would follow established systems and protocols in carrying out any operation.

Co said the PNP was ready to enforce lawful orders that may come from the court.

The Office of the Ombudsman filed the plunder case Friday morning against Marcoleta, former Anakalusugan Rep. Mike Defensor, Aristotle Viray and Joseph Espiritu.

The complaint stemmed from an alleged Php 75 million campaign donation to Marcoleta before his 2025 Senate run.

Defensor, Viray and Espiritu allegedly gave the money to Marcoleta while he was still a member of the House of Representatives.

Co said police would coordinate with the Senate leadership if any court order had to be served inside the chamber.

The issue recalled the tension during the earlier attempted arrest of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada on a plunder case, when then Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano insisted that the arrest be made outside the Senate session hall.
