The Philippine National Police (PNP) will be on heightened alert for the 2025 holiday season, acting PNP chief Plt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said on Wednesday night.

Nartatez announced that no police personnel will be allowed to take holiday leaves as the entire force will be deployed for security operations.

He said the PNP has already prepared its security measures to ensure public safety during Christmas and New Year activities.

The police chief emphasized that officers will focus on operations rather than vacations throughout the season.

He noted that the PNP will release additional details on its holiday deployment in the coming days.
Despite the alert status, the PNP will still take part in Yuletide festivities, Nartatez said.

He shared that the Public Safety Mutual Benefit Fund Inc. donated items worth P55 million for raffles for police personnel.

Nartatez also reported that financial assistance has been extended to officers affected by recent typhoons.

He said aid was likewise provided to police personnel impacted by the recent fire incidents.

The heightened alert aims to strengthen police visibility, deter crime, and ensure safe holiday celebrations nationwide.
