PASIG CITY – The Pasig City Government inaugurated newly improved roads and drainage systems in Teachers Village, Barangay San Miguel, on October 15, 2026, as part of efforts to improve community infrastructure and address flooding concerns.
The project, implemented through the City Engineering Office, cost approximately Php 1.6 million and included the concreting of alleyways covering nearly 147 meters, with an average width of 1.6 meters.
Improvements also included the construction and rehabilitation of drainage canals measuring 147 meters long and approximately one meter wide to facilitate the flow of floodwater.
A separate 65-meter canal was also provided to accommodate water service lines.
Local government officials, barangay representatives, and residents attended the inauguration, including members of the Mariano Lacandaso Neighborhood Association Inc., Dalisay Bliss V, Dalisay Aero Club, and senior citizens’ groups.
The ceremony featured a ribbon-cutting and blessing of the completed infrastructure, with officials reminding residents of the importance of maintaining the newly improved facilities.
Barangay San Miguel Chairperson Manny Alba expressed gratitude to the city government for completing the project, which addressed a longstanding request from neighborhood association leaders.
The improvements are expected to provide safer and more accessible passageways while enhancing drainage capacity in the community.
