The Philippine National Police (PNP) has placed all its units on full alert as the country prepares for the three-day assemblies of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) beginning November 16, assuring the public that safety and order remain its top priorities.
In a statement, Acting PNP Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the heightened alert took effect at 5 p.m. on November 14 to ensure that police personnel are fully staffed, equipped, and ready for deployment. Full ground deployment begins today, with officers strategically positioned across Metro Manila and supported by units nationwide.
With large crowds expected to gather for the INC’s activities, the PNP has activated a comprehensive security plan covering ground operations, traffic management, intelligence monitoring, emergency response, and maritime patrols. All units are prepared to respond as needed.
Nartatez said coordination with partner agencies is “tight,” and police officers are committed to keeping the INC gatherings peaceful, orderly, and safe for participants, commuters, and residents.
While stressing its respect for the public’s right to peaceful assembly, the PNP urged attendees to observe safety reminders, cooperate with police on the ground, and help maintain a calm and orderly environment.
“The Philippine National Police remains vigilant, steady, and fully ready to protect every Filipino during this major event,” the statement said, adding that the PNP stands firm in its duty to safeguard public safety and peace.
