Police arrested Region 2’s second most wanted person in Calamba City, Laguna, over 15 counts of qualified rape of a minor, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported.
The 36-year-old suspect, a construction worker from Ilagan City, Isabela, was caught on June 14 in Barangay Palo-Alto.
The PNP said the arrest was based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 18 in Ilagan City.
The court did not recommend bail for the suspect.
Police said the man was wanted for 15 counts of qualified rape of a minor.
The operation was led by the Alicia Municipal Police Station, with support from the Isabela Provincial Intelligence Unit, Regional Intelligence Division 2, and Regional Intelligence Unit 2.
The suspect was placed under the custody of the Alicia police for documentation and other legal procedures before his turnover to the issuing court.
PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez said the arrest formed part of continuing manhunt operations against fugitives facing serious criminal charges, adding that police would continue to bring wanted persons before the courts.
