A woman tagged as a Most Wanted Person was arrested by the Philippine National Police (PNP) during an operation in Taguig City on July 11.
Police identified the suspect, 30, alias “Maya,” who was taken into custody along Mayon Street in Palar Village, Barangay Southside, Taguig City by Southern Police District personnel and other police units.
Authorities said she was arrested on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 261 in Pasig City for 13 counts of qualified theft under Article 310 of the Revised Penal Code.
The court set her bail at Php 348,000. She was later brought to the Pasig City Police Station Custodial Facility as police completed documentation and other legal procedures.
PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. commended the teams involved in the operation, saying the arrest showed the police force’s continued efforts to locate and apprehend wanted individuals.
He said authorities would continue pursuing suspects with pending warrants as part of efforts to uphold public safety and strengthen trust in law enforcement.
The PNP said the operation was carried out under its Focused Agenda, particularly the Enhanced Managing Police Operations strategy, which focuses on coordinated actions against wanted persons.
The arrest was part of the police force’s continuing campaign to ensure that individuals facing criminal charges are brought before the courts.
