The Philippine National Police (PNP) has arrested the No. 3 Regional Most Wanted Person in Negros Oriental during a law enforcement operation in Barangay Kalamtukan, Bayawan City on June 5, 2026.

The suspect, identified only by the alias “Ontoy,” 31, a resident of the same barangay, was apprehended by authorities on the strength of a warrant of arrest for Rape in Relation to Republic Act No. 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act. The warrant, issued by the Regional Trial Court in Bayawan City in November 2015, carries no recommended bail.

The arrest was carried out by personnel of the Bayawan City Police Station Warrant Section through an Oplan Tracker operation after months of intelligence gathering, monitoring, and validation efforts.

Police officials said the successful operation underscores the PNP’s intensified campaign against wanted persons under its Focused Agenda, particularly the program on Enhanced Managing Police Operations. The initiative aims to ensure that individuals facing criminal charges are located, arrested, and brought before the courts to answer for their alleged offenses.

“The PNP remains firm in its mandate to pursue wanted persons and ensure that they are held accountable under the law. We assure the public that our operations are guided by due process, professionalism, and respect for human rights,” said PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr.

Authorities said the suspect is now under the custody of the operating police unit for proper documentation and turnover to the issuing court.

The arrest marks another significant accomplishment in the PNP’s continuing drive to track down fugitives and strengthen public safety, reinforcing its commitment to the principle of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”
