Police arrested three persons allegedly linked to the “Termite Gang” during a drug operation in Iloilo City that yielded nearly Php 7 million worth of suspected shabu.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said the suspects were arrested on June 16 in Barangay Bolilao, Mandurriao District.

The buy-bust was carried out by the PNP Drug Enforcement Group’s Special Operations Unit 6, Iloilo City Police Station 10, and the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group Visayas.

Authorities seized about 1,020 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of Php 6.936 million.

The arrested suspects were identified only by the aliases “JR,” “RJ,” and “Alog,” who was also known as “Foreman.”

Police said two of the suspects were believed to be siblings, while investigators were verifying their alleged links to drug distribution activities that may extend to Metro Manila.

The suspects had been under surveillance for several weeks based on intelligence reports and information from concerned citizens.

The seized evidence was turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit 6 for laboratory examination, while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act were being prepared.
