The Philippine National Police (PNP) said that police units nationwide remained on standby to assist communities affected by Tropical Depression Maymay and the enhanced southwest monsoon.
The PNP said personnel were coordinating with local governments, disaster response agencies and other offices to support emergency operations and maintain order in areas affected by severe weather.
Police units were also prepared to assist communities facing flooding, landslides and other weather-related hazards.
PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. urged the public to follow official advisories and comply with evacuation orders when necessary.
He also advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel in areas experiencing heavy rain or flooding.
Motorists were reminded not to cross flooded roads, while residents were urged to secure their homes before evacuating and continue monitoring updates from Pagasa and local authorities.
The PNP also encouraged the public to report emergencies and people needing assistance to the nearest police station or emergency hotline.
The police force said it would continue supporting disaster response operations as weather conditions develop.
