The Philippine National Police said Wednesday that investigators were pursuing leads in the suspected improvised explosive device incidents near the Department of Justice and the Senate.
PNP chief Jose Melencio Nartatez said authorities had gathered information that could help identify those behind the incidents, but he withheld details to avoid compromising the investigation.
He said police teams continued to examine evidence and verify the leads developed in the case.
The first suspected IED exploded outside the DOJ compound in Manila early Monday.
A second device was later recovered near the Senate building in Pasay City on the same morning.
The incidents occurred hours before President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. delivered his fifth State of the Nation Address.
Nartatez had earlier said investigators were considering a possible connection between the two cases because of their timing and similar circumstances.
The PNP asked the public for patience as investigators worked around the clock to determine the motive and identify the people responsible.
