The Philippine National Police (PNP) has dispatched specialized units to execute arrest warrants against businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang and others linked to the deaths of several sabungeros.

The warrants were issued by the Sta. Cruz, Laguna Regional Trial Court Branch 26, citing charges of kidnapping with homicide and serious illegal detention.

PNP acting chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the teams are coordinating to serve the orders at Ang’s known locations.

Ang faces similar cases filed in San Pablo, Laguna, and Lipa, Batangas, highlighting multiple jurisdictions involved in the investigation.

In December, the Department of Justice indicted 22 individuals, including Ang and 15 policemen, based on testimonies from the Patidongan brothers, who acted as his close security aides.

The businessman has filed a motion seeking to reconsider the DOJ resolution, which remains under review.

Authorities said operations will continue until all arrest warrants have been implemented, stressing adherence to due process and public safety protocols.
