The Philippine National Police (PNP) dismissed 3,124 personnel in 2025 as part of a sweeping internal cleansing program that saw more than 4,200 administrative cases resolved over the past year.
According to data released by the PNP on Sunday, a total of 6,527 personnel were subject to administrative proceedings. Of those involved, 3,124 were removed from the service, while another 3,403 received various penalties, including demotions and suspensions.
The figures cover a broad cross-section of the police force, involving 1,101 police commissioned officers, 5,229 non-commissioned officers, and 197 non-uniformed personnel.
PNP acting chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. emphasized that the high volume of resolutions reflects the organization’s commitment to internal transparency and accountability.
“These figures show that accountability in the PNP is not selective and not superficial,” Nartatez said in a statement. He added that strict discipline remains a “cornerstone” of the national police service.
The PNP noted that all cases underwent a thorough review of evidence and followed due process before final penalties were issued. The announcement comes on the heels of several other year-end reports, including a reported 12.4% decrease in the national crime rate for 2025.
