The Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested a suspect linked to an online harassment incident in Taguig, authorities reported.

On February 11, 2026, operatives from the Quezon City District Anti-Cybercrime Team conducted an operation that led to the arrest of a 28-year-old man accused of harassing a woman using her private photos and videos.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the police treat online harassment as a crime and encouraged victims to report incidents promptly to allow authorities to respond quickly.

The suspect faces charges under Article 286 (Grave Coercion) of the Revised Penal Code, the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009, and the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

Police said the arrest is part of the PNP’s Focused Agenda, including the Enhanced Managing Police Operations program, which aims to ensure law enforcement remains strategic and citizen-focused.

Officials noted that the case reflects the police’s efforts to address digital crimes and protect individuals from online abuse.

The PNP reminded the public to exercise caution online, safeguard personal information, and report any form of harassment or intimidation through digital platforms.

Nartatez advised users to remain vigilant on social media and other online platforms and to contact authorities immediately if they experience harassment or abuse.
