SEOUL — LG Electronics is set to take a major step forward in home robotics with the global debut of LG CLOiD, its new home assistant robot, at CES 2026 in Las Vegas from January 6 to 9. Designed to take on a wide range of everyday household tasks, CLOiD reflects LG’s ambition to transform the modern home into a space where technology quietly handles the work, giving people back time for what truly matters.

LG CLOiD anchors the company’s “Zero Labor Home, Makes Quality Time” vision, a long-term approach aimed at reducing the physical and mental load of daily chores through intelligent automation. Positioned as a proactive home assistant rather than a novelty device, the robot represents a key milestone in LG’s effort to redefine home living as more intuitive, efficient, and human-centered.

Built with a form factor suited for real-world living spaces, CLOiD is equipped with two articulated arms featuring seven degrees of freedom each, enabling fluid, natural movement. Its five independently controlled fingers on each hand allow for delicate, precise actions, from handling small objects to performing tasks that demand fine motor control.

This level of dexterity is designed to let the robot operate seamlessly within the home, rather than requiring households to adapt to it.

Powering CLOiD is a head-mounted chipset that serves as its central “brain,” supported by a display, speaker, camera, and a comprehensive sensor array. Together, these components enable natural voice interaction, expressive communication, and intelligent navigation.

Driven by LG’s Affectionate Intelligence technology, the robot is built to understand its environment, interact in a warm and intuitive way, and continuously improve its responses through repeated use, gradually delivering more personalized assistance to each household.

Robotics remains a core future growth engine for LG. To accelerate innovation, the company has established the HS Robotics Lab under its Home Appliance Solution Company, focusing on developing differentiated technologies and strengthening product competitiveness.

LG is also expanding its ecosystem through joint research initiatives and strategic partnerships with leading robotics firms in Korea and around the world.

CES 2026 visitors can experience LG CLOiD in action through a series of real-life Zero Labor Home scenarios at LG’s booth (#15004) at the Las Vegas Convention Center, offering a glimpse of how intelligent robotics could soon reshape everyday life at home.
