The Philippine National Police (PNP) intensified its campaign against online child exploitation after a cybercrime operation in Iligan City early morning on March 14, 2026, aimed at protecting minors from digital abuse.

At around 12:55 a.m., joint teams from the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 10, Iligan City Police Office, City Mobile Force Battalion, and the PNP Maritime Group executed a warrant to search, seize, and examine computer data in Purok Kilumco, Camague, Barangay Tubod.

The operation led to the arrest of a 22-year-old male suspect known by the alias “Alodia Monastacio.”

The warrant, issued by the Regional Trial Court in Iligan City, cited violations of Republic Act No. 11930, the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act.

Authorities recovered multiple electronic devices and storage materials believed to contain illegal content. On-site digital forensic examination confirmed the presence of child sexual abuse or exploitation materials.

The operation was conducted in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the National Coordination Center Against OSAEC and CSAEM, and the Department of Justice Regional Anti-Trafficking Task Force. Women personnel of the anti-cybercrime unit led the raid in observance of Women’s Month.

The suspect is now in the custody of the Iligan City Police Office pending documentation and inquest proceedings, while authorities continue to strengthen efforts to detect and prevent online abuse.
