PNP arrests most wanted rape suspect in Bohol ops

Police arrested a man listed as a top wanted person for multiple counts of qualified rape of a minor in an operation in Bohol on May 2, 2026.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said the 39-year-old suspect was apprehended in Purok 4, Barangay Baybayon, Mabini town, Bohol at around 3 p.m.

Authorities said the operation was carried out by units from Bulacan, including intelligence personnel and mobile force elements, in coordination with local police in Bohol.

The suspect, a resident of Meycauayan City, Bulacan, was identified as the No. 1 most wanted person in his region in relation to the case.

Police said the arrest was based on a warrant issued on November 18, 2025, by a Regional Trial Court in Meycauayan City covering four counts of qualified rape of a minor, with no bail recommended.

He was taken into custody following the operation and is currently under police control while documents are being processed for return to the issuing court.

The police said the arrest was carried out through intelligence-driven monitoring and tracking efforts across different units.

Authorities said follow-up procedures are ongoing in coordination with the court that issued the warrant.
