The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday acknowledged the issuance of arrest warrants against several individuals in connection with alleged irregularities in flood control projects, following an announcement by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
In a statement signed by Acting PNP Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., the PNP said it is coordinating with the Sandiganbayan and other concerned agencies to ensure the lawful and orderly implementation of the warrants.
The police organization assured the public that due process will be strictly observed and that the individuals involved will be accorded all rights guaranteed under the law.
The PNP said the development reflects ongoing efforts of government institutions to strengthen transparency and accountability in public service.
It added that the police force remains committed to supporting these legal processes professionally, fairly and without prejudice.
The agency also urged the public to maintain trust in institutions as authorities carry out their duties with integrity, respect for the rule of law and commitment to justice.
