Plants vs. Zombies: replanted remaster launches October 23 with new modes and Co-Op Play

PopCap Studios and Electronic Arts have announced Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, a remastered edition of the beloved 2009 tower defense game, set for release on October 23.

The revamped version will feature enhanced HD graphics, new local co-op and player-versus-player (PvP) modes, and fresh content that explores the game’s development history. It will be available on PC and consoles, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch (and its successor), as well as older-gen platforms.

While retaining its classic lane-based gameplay, Replanted introduces new features like Cloudy Day, a challenge mode with limited sunlight and planting abilities. Fan-favorite minigames and behind-the-scenes content—such as early designs and concept art—will also be included.

Local co-op and PvP will allow players to team up or go head-to-head in backyard battles. Pre-orders are now open, with buyers receiving an exclusive 8-bit Peashooter skin.

Originally released in 2009, Plants vs. Zombies became a global phenomenon thanks to its unique blend of strategic gameplay and quirky humor, leading to several sequels and spin-offs across platforms.

More information and updates are available via PopCap Studios’ official website and social media.
