The Philippine Air Force (PAF) and the Royal Brunei Air Force have successfully delivered essential relief supplies to storm-stricken Calaguas Island in Camarines Norte.
In a statement on Monday, PAF spokesperson Col. Ma. Consuelo Castillo reported that both air forces utilized their “Black Hawk” helicopters to transport family food packs, provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), to island residents on November 2.
“This mission underscores the strong partnership between the Philippines and Brunei Darussalam, demonstrating their commitment to regional security and humanitarian assistance,” Castillo said.
She noted that the operation involved collaboration with the Philippine Army’s ground troops, as well as personnel from DSWD-5 (Bicol) and the Office of Civil Defense.
“Through collaborative efforts, the PAF and AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines), as a whole, ensure that those in need receive the necessary assistance promptly,” Castillo said.
