This recognition comes as Panglao recorded a significant 77% surge in flight searches during the first half of 2024, indicating its growing appeal among international travelers.
According to Skyscanner, Panglao is praised for its diverse tourism offerings, positioning itself as an emerging Asian wellness destination and a refreshing alternative to traditional European locations.
Visitors are drawn to the island’s pristine beaches, the iconic Chocolate Hills, eco-sites like the Loboc River, and the Tarsier Sanctuary, all of which highlight Bohol’s commitment to sustainable tourism. Panglao’s expanding reputation as a wellness hub continues to attract travelers in search of tranquil escapes.
Skyscanner, a top global travel platform, based its rankings on flight search data from January to June 2024, comparing it with the same period in 2023. The analysis reveals a trend among UK travelers favoring lesser-known yet captivating destinations that offer experiences beyond Europe.
Leading the list in the top 1 to 7 spots are Reggio Calabria, Italy; Tartu, Estonia; Siem Reap, Cambodia; Baltimore, USA; Portsmouth, Dominica; Córdoba, Spain; and Tromsø, Norway.
Meanwhile, Stuttgart, Germany; and Thiruvananthapuram, India, ranked 9th and 10th, respectively.
