Philippines unveils logo for 3rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics Junior World Championships

Logo for the 3rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics Junior World Championships featuring a stylized oyster shell in purple, white, and gold, with a FIG insignia at the center, and silhouettes of a male gymnast on rings and a female gymnast on a balance beam.

The Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) on Friday officially unveiled the logo for the 3rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics Junior World Championships — a design deeply rooted in the nation’s identity as the “Pearl of the Orient Seas.”

The emblem features a stylized oyster shell rendered in vibrant shades of purple, white, and gold, with the official Federation Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) insignia gleaming at its center like a pearl. The design captures both elegance and energy, embodying the Philippines’ warmth and hospitality as host of the world-class event.

“Gymnastics is an energetic and spirited discipline, and we Filipinos are known for our passion and excellence,” said GAP President Cynthia Carrion. “The shell is a direct tribute to our heritage and symbolizes a welcoming nation that offers a safe and inspiring space where future champions can shine.”

Carrion added that the oyster shell reflects the Philippines’ “lush, lustrous, and hospitable” character, while the central FIG emblem represents the universality of gymnastics — a perennial favorite in the Olympic Games.

The championship, which runs from November 20 to 24 at the Manila Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom in Newport World Resorts, Pasay City, will feature a record-breaking 846 athletes from 77 nations. The FIG now counts 161 member countries, and the Manila event will surpass the participation numbers of the 2023 Antalya edition, which hosted 234 gymnasts from 64 nations.

“We’ve exceeded expectations, and more delegations continue to confirm their attendance,” Carrion noted. “We’re ready to welcome them to one of the most accessible and vibrant venues in the region.”

Delegates will be housed in premier hotels within walking distance of the competition venue, including Sheraton Manila, Hilton Manila, Belmont Manila, Hotel Okura, Savoy Hotel, and Hilton Express — all located in the Newport complex across from NAIA Terminal 3.

Completing the logo are silhouettes of a male gymnast on the rings and a female gymnast on the balance beam — symbolic of the young athletes being molded into future stars.

“These select athletes are like pearls formed through time and pressure — rare, talented, and destined to shine,” Carrion said.

The Philippines will be represented by Karl Eldrew Yulo, younger brother of Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, and Elisabeth Antone, who won bronze in the individual all-around at the Asian Junior Championships in Jecheon, South Korea.
