MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) are exploring closer collaboration to streamline government processes, strengthen regulatory compliance, and improve public access to healthcare services.
PhilHealth President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Beverly Lorraine Ho paid a courtesy visit to ARTA Secretary Ernesto Perez on Tuesday, October 20, to discuss ongoing initiatives and potential partnerships aimed at making government services more efficient and responsive.
Among the key issues discussed were discrepancies identified in PhilHealth’s submitted Customer Satisfaction Measurement (CSM) Report, a compliance requirement monitored by ARTA.
Both agencies explored measures to resolve the discrepancies and ensure compliance with existing regulatory standards.
The meeting also focused on potential digitalization initiatives under PhilHealth’s Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP), which could help simplify administrative procedures, reduce bureaucratic delays, and improve the delivery of healthcare services.
ARTA has been pushing for digital transformation across government agencies to eliminate unnecessary processes and make public transactions more accessible.
Also present during the meeting were ARTA Deputy Director General for Operations Lea-Grace Salcedo, Deputy Director General for Field Operations and Special Programs and Concerns Juabilly Racho, and Compliance Monitoring and Evaluation Office Director Grace Fernandez.
Both agencies reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening inter-agency coordination and identifying concrete areas of cooperation to improve regulatory efficiency and public service delivery.
The proposed collaboration is expected to support efforts toward faster, more accessible, and citizen-centered government services.
