Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Japan are assured of full reintegration assistance as the Philippine government strengthens its National Reintegration Network, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said Wednesday.
In a statement, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said Cacdac met with around 80 Filipino community leaders in Tokyo on Tuesday and emphasized the government’s goal of ensuring a smooth and sustainable transition for returning OFWs and their families.
“The DMW is your home in government, and we will be with you in all stages of your overseas employment,” Cacdac said.
He also highlighted the government’s commitment to protecting OFWs’ welfare, citing the country’s strong partnership with host nations, the availability of the AKSYON Fund, and digital platforms that streamline employment services.
“Wala nang tatalo pa sa pagpapaunlad ng ating mahal na bayan. Kahit nandito kayo sa Japan, much appreciated ng Pangulo na iniisip nyo pa rin back home. Gusto naming kayong tulungan sa journey na ‘yan. Tutulungan namin kayo with our comprehensive reintegration support for productive and sustainable reintegration back with your families,” he said.
Cacdac is in Tokyo for the 15th Roundtable on Labor Migration in Asia, organized by the Asian Development Bank Institute, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and International Labour Organization (ILO).
The conference focuses on strengthening integration and reintegration programs for migrant workers across Asia and the Pacific.
