The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) is riding a strong investment wave, approving projects worth P175.37 billion in the first 10 months of 2025—up by 41.72 percent compared to last year. The surge brings the agency within striking distance of its P250-billion full-year target, fueling optimism about sustained investor confidence in the country’s ecozone program.
Data released Friday showed that the PEZA Board approved 243 new and expansion projects as of October, expected to generate $6.079 billion in exports and create nearly 60,000 direct jobs for Filipinos.
Foreign capital continues to drive growth, with Japan topping the list of investors, followed by firms from the Cayman Islands, South Korea, China, Singapore, and the United States.
Investments from domestic market-focused enterprises also climbed to PHP84.31 billion, which PEZA described as proof of the “robust confidence” of both local and international investors in the country’s economic zones.
For October alone, PEZA approved 28 new and expansion projects amounting to PHP20.66 billion—an impressive 162.64 percent increase from the PHP7.87 billion logged in the same month last year. These projects are projected to bring in USD1.588 billion in exports, up by 182.33 percent, and create 9,507 new jobs, almost doubling last year’s figure.
PEZA Director General Tereso Panga said the strong performance underscores the resilience of the country’s investment ecosystem despite global and domestic challenges. “These figures reflect the continuing confidence of our locators and partners in the ecozone program and the country’s long-term investment potential,” he said.
Panga reaffirmed PEZA’s commitment to strengthen its ecozone framework by ensuring transparency, stability, and competitiveness to support sustainable growth.
“With over 70 percent of our investment target already achieved within ten months—and with strong project pipelines under review—we are confident and optimistic of meeting, and even exceeding, our PHP250-billion goal by year-end,” Panga added.
