PDEA seizes P1.36M shabu in Albay, arrests ‘high-value’ suspect

Anti-narcotics agents seized more than P1.36 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested a “high-value” suspect during a buy-bust operation here Saturday morning.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) identified the suspect as a 27-year-old unemployed man from Taguig City.

Authorities have classified the individual as a high-value target (HVT) within the Bicol region’s anti-drug priority list.

The operation took place at approximately 9:00 a.m. on January 3, resulting in the recovery of roughly 200 grams of suspected illegal drugs.

The substance was found packed in two knot-tied transparent plastic sachets.

In addition to the narcotics, PDEA agents recovered several non-drug items used in the transaction, including a genuine P1,000 bill used as marked money, bundles of replica P1,000 bills used as “boodle” money, an Android mobile phone, and various containers.

The suspect is currently held in PDEA custody. He faces charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9165).
