The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has launched a large-scale Aid Caravan to deliver critical relief to communities in Masbate and Cebu devastated by recent natural disasters. The initiative, carried out in partnership with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), demonstrates the agency’s expanded capacity to bring immediate aid to as many as 25,000 families across both provinces.
Departing on October 5, 2025, the PCSO Aid Caravan transports not only essential goods but also the message of bayanihan in action. It carries over 18,000 Charitimba food packs, more than 4,000 evacuation kits, 664 boxes of medicines, and nearly 8,000 relief items sourced from Authorized Agent Corporations (AACs). The total assistance value has reached ₱50 million, excluding logistics and transport.
“These are more than just statistics—they reflect the nation’s collective compassion,” said PCSO General Manager Melquiades A. Robles. “Each pack we send is a reminder that no Filipino stands alone in times of disaster.”
The Cebu leg of the caravan—comprising PCSO buses, MMDA trucks, and PTV service vehicles—will travel by land to deliver food, medicine, and emergency supplies to earthquake-stricken communities. Cebu’s affected towns were among the first to receive PCSO’s initial wave of emergency aid, ensuring continuous government support during recovery.
Meanwhile, in Masbate, six PCSO wing vans and one PTV unit are bound for Burias and Ticao Islands, two of the hardest-hit areas by Typhoon Agaton. The caravan’s mobile teams are working closely with local governments to ensure that assistance reaches even the most remote island communities.
In a joint statement, Robles, MMDA Chairman Atty. Romando S. Artes, and LRTA Administrator Atty. Hernando R. Cabrera emphasized the unity driving the operation:
“In every calamity, Filipinos prove that our greatest strength lies in coming together. The Aid Caravan to Cebu and Masbate is more than a relief mission—it’s a testament to the unbreakable spirit of bayanihan that defines us as a people.”
The public is encouraged to participate by donating relief goods at any LRTA station. Every contribution, the officials said, adds to a “greater force of compassion” that sustains communities in need.
Through this latest caravan, the PCSO reaffirms its role as a frontliner in national disaster response—turning charity into action and ensuring that hope and solidarity reach those who need them most, no matter the distance.
