The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) continued to expand its reach in inclusive education and social welfare as it formally turned over a ₱485,000 grant to its newest institutional partner, the Community of Hope Special Education Center, during a ceremony held on December 12, 2025, at the school’s campus in Mindanao.
The assistance was released under the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office Institutional Partnership Program, which supports qualified organizations engaged in education, health, and social services.
Leading the turnover were PCSO Misamis Occidental Branch Head Larrah Labuntog-Quintos and Social Worker Jelaica Cobrado, who handed the check to COHSEC administrator Sister Cecilia Cuizon, SSC, in the presence of school personnel and members of the institution.
The grant is expected to directly strengthen COHSEC’s educational programs for children with special needs, enabling the center to enhance learning activities and sustain its long-standing mission of providing quality, inclusive education to its students.
School officials noted that the funding will help address both instructional and operational requirements essential to delivering specialized care and learning support.
PCSO officials also took the opportunity to encourage other eligible institutions that are not yet part of the Institutional Partnership Program to apply, underscoring the agency’s continued openness to collaborations that uplift underserved communities and sectors.
Expressing her appreciation, Sister Cuizon described the support as both timely and deeply meaningful, particularly during the holiday season. She thanked PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles, the Misamis Occidental branch, the PCSO Board of Directors, and the Charity Assistance Department for helping COHSEC become an official institutional partner.
The newly forged partnership highlights PCSO’s sustained commitment to empowering organizations that nurture education, care, and hope, especially for children who require specialized attention and support, reinforcing the agency’s broader mandate of service to the most vulnerable sectors of society.
