The PCSO Chorale will perform the Philippine national anthem during President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s fifth State of the Nation Address on July 27, Malacañang said Tuesday.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro announced that the employee-based singing group had been selected for the annual address.
Radio Television Malacañang will oversee the direction of the Sona program, according to Castro.
She said the event had been designed to maintain a simple and restrained presentation from the beginning.
The arrangement also reflected the President’s preference for a more austere ceremony.
Castro added that no celebrity performer would take part in the program.
The PCSO Chorale serves as the official vocal ensemble of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office and is composed of regular agency employees.
Established in 1998, the group was revitalized in September 2023 under PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles and conductor Robert Delgado.
